Post 3 Q&A

Try any one of these decision support systems and describe two examples of decisions which they may help to support. For each decision, describe whether the decision would be made by operational, middle or senior management levels :

Break-even Calculator
is the information about
The fixed production costs for a product.
The variable production costs for a product.
The product's unit price.
The product's expected unit sales

For Operational, they have to perpare the above data base for structed the account receivable and the account payable.

For the Middle Management levels , they hv process the Budget analysis , short-term forecasting base on the above data.

For Serior Management levels, that is the internal business information , which is a part of important information that for marking bussiness strategic planning

Next, try out the different modules within the OpenBravo ERP demo. After you've familiarized yourself with these tools, identify which module can be used to handle each step within the Order-to-Cash business process below:

Accept/Enter Order

Order Acknowledgement
Purchase Materials
Receive Materials

Production
Packing
Shipping

Invoicing and Collection

Which departments need to coordinate from start to finish of the Order-to-Cash business process ? Describe how the ERP software makes their work easier. Also explain why ERP software can serve as the foundation or platform for decision support systems.
The Operational department neec to coordiate from start to finiah of the Order -to -Cash business , since this is very important to hv a daily business record (Fm Sale to Ship the goods out/ Account receivable)
Which can develop an understand of how ERP systems improve the effectivess of the informationsystems inorganization.

  1. You may mention the individual departments who are involved in the Order-to-Cash business processs, such as Sales, Accounting, Production/Manufacturing, Warehousing, Transportation.

In case the company doesn't have enough goods to satisfy the order, they may also have to use Procurement Management (to procure raw materials) and Materials Requirements Planning modules (to schedule production of the ordered goods).

  2. For decision support systems, you only need to pick one out of the four systems to talk about. You may also offer two specific examples of decisions that may be based on the DSS you pick. For example, the break-even calculator could help senior management understand how changes in the price charged for the product can affect their break-even period. If charging burgers at $1.75 will extend their break-even period to 20 months, this might be too long for them and they may consider charging a higher price to shorten the time needed to break even, even it may mean fewer units sold.

    Hope this helps !
